Tips for Maximizing Your Investments
Hello Friends,
Whenever someone talks about maximizing your investments, most of us immediately think they’re talking about our finances - earning the highest return with the least risk in the shortest amount of time. And while financial stewardship is important, I’m really talking about how we invest our time and our talents – not just our treasures.
This spring, our chapter is embarking on a new initiative that will ultimately benefit every manufacturing company along the front range. We are launching NRL Colorado on Saturday, April 13th – a regional robotics competition that is a job-driven, project-based STEM learning experience specifically designed to engage manufacturing’s next generation. Hosting a regional robotics competition is a giant undertaking and we could really use your help to ensure it’s a success! Please contact Amy Primrose today to see how volunteering a few hours of your time can positively impact our industry’s future!
January is also a great time to invest in your team’s skills training and personal development. For a relatively small fee, your entire team will receive unlimited access to NTMA-U’s online training courses for 2019. The Rocky Mountain chapter invested in this training portal to provide our members with quality, affordable, industry-specific skills training.
Employees Annual Cost for Unlimited Training
0-10 $100.00 (does not include books)
11-25 $200.00 (does not include books)
26-75 $350.00 (does not include books)
76 or more $500.00 (does not include books)
The easiest way to enroll your company is by contacting our Chapter Exec, Jim Duggins. If we don’t hear from you by January 31st, one of our board members will be giving you a call to ask why you’re not proactively investing in your team… This one is a no-brainer, really!
Here are a few additional ways to maximize your NTMA investment:
Join the RMTMA LinkedIn Group
Attend the SW Regional Conference (Feb 8-10 in Irvine, CA)
Attend the MFG Meeting (March 6-10 in Tucson, AZ)
Mike’s Library: Recommend “Factfullness” by Hans Rosling and EntreLeadership by Dave Ramsey (I use Audible alot)
As I look back on 2018, I am especially grateful to have visited all but a handful of our member companies. Thank you for opening your doors and for giving me the opportunity to see good ol’ American pride, creativity and ingenuity – I reaped a HUGE return on my time investment! Thanks also for providing candid input on the issues, hot topics, and event preferences that yield the most value for you and your team. I also want to extend a huge “Thank You” to our board. Not only did we have a very productive strategic planning day in November, but we meet monthly to enhance member value and to keep our chapter initiatives moving forward.
I believe that the future of U.S. manufacturing is bright, and that we are better, stronger, and more profitable when we work together. Do you have questions about how to get more out of your membership? Please feel free to contact me – I’m glad to help in any way I can!
