Apprenticeship Program & Employee Upskilling For Host Companies/Machine Shops
TAKE PART IN THE RMTMA APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
RMTMA’s Apprenticeship Program is registered through the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment entity. As the Program Sponsor, we are looking for Host Companies who are looking to create an apprenticeship at their machine shop.
Under our state-registered program, we are able to include more apprenticeships (outside of Machinists) to fit the needs of our members. If you’re interested in learning more, please complete the form below.
Upskilling Your Current Workforce
Utilize our funding opportunities for free licenses to Tooling U-SME to upskill your current employees. Classes are fully aligned to industry standards and industry-backed certifications.
Additionally, CAMA has introduced a new free training program to enable our members to enhance the skills of their current workforce. This includes training in Manufacturing, Welding, logistics, management, Health and safety, among others. These training opportunities are provided online through Workforce 180 and funded by a grant from the state of Colorado.
Benefits of Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is a proven strategy for talent development, career preparation, and ensuring we help create a pipeline of employees for our members and industry.
Key benefits:
Recruit, train, and retain a skilled workforce.
Grow your own talent to meet your specific needs.
Access a more diverse candidate pool.
Provides leadership opportunity to current employees, increasing their engagement with your company as they mentor and manage apprentices.
funding opportunities
*Update: Training dollars have increased for apprentice tools, education, and event employee pay. If you have questions, please contact Peter Hancock at phancock@pegrecruiting.com.
The Rocky Mountain National Tooling & Machining Association is partnering with the Colorado Workforce System to ensure that eligible Apprentices have access to resources and support needed to successfully complete their apprenticeship.
To maximize the funding: it is best to have the employer and employee first fill out the application with the workforce center then start at the shop. There are more funding buckets they can pull from if they are a “new” employee. However there is still plenty of funding if the employee is already employed with the shop.
Your local Workforce Center may be able to provide financial support while you are in RMTMA Apprenticeship Program. Funding and services are available to eligible Apprentices and may include assistance with tuition, books and fees and/or supportive services, such as helping to purchasing tools, uniforms, transportation assistance, childcare assistance, etc.
Below are recordings from our recent Workforce Strategies Panel on March 31, 2022. Each video is about 15 minutes long and provide valuable information on the apprenticeship program.
